There are a total of seven tracks on the album along with seven different musician lineups that included six different drummers with bernard purdie appearing twice where despite this lack of continuity an entirely splendid continuity emerged on aja as if conjured or coaxed. Steve gaad on drums it makes it like a euphoric experience.

The opener black cow combines a funk groove with a jazzy feel and great lyrics. Aja is an amazing drum track with dr. But the 2010 180 gram vinyl re issue of steely dan s aja is a real gem.
