The trade name of this aluminum laminate as originated by the aluminum company of america is alcad. From this trade name the adjective clad and the verb cladding have been derived. No guarantee against scratches is possible due to the handling required to cut sheets to sizes shown. Alclad is a superior corrosion resistant alloy compared to present day alloys and meets astm standard b209.

Aircraft quality 2024 t3 aluminum sheet is thought of as the aircraft alloy because of its strength. It has a melting point of about 500 degrees celsius or 932 degrees fahrenheit.
